About DemNurse
Amy is a Registered Nurse (RGN) and the founder of DemNurse, registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). After years working in dementia care across the NHS and private sector, she saw families struggling to find clear, compassionate guidance when they needed it most.
DemNurse was created to fill that gap, offering practical, nurse-led support for families, carers, and individuals affected by dementia. Whether you need help understanding a diagnosis, navigating care options, or simply want someone who listens, Amy is here.
“No two journeys are the same. My role is to walk alongside you, offering the knowledge and support you need, when you need it.”

Transparency
Nurse-led dementia guidance for families in Northumberland and the wider North East. Dementia changes everything — often before anyone feels ready. At DemNurse, we are often invited into people's lives at moments of worry, uncertainty, or exhaustion. We take that responsibility seriously.
We operate as an independent nursing consultancy to ensure you receive the time and expertise you deserve.
You are paying for direct access to a Registered Nurse with years of clinical experience in both the NHS and private sectors.
Unlike overstretched public services, we provide the space to talk things through properly. We offer a consistent point of contact who truly knows your story.
We are not part of the NHS, a care home, or an agency. This allows us to give honest, unbiased guidance focused solely on what is right for your family.
Timely, expert advice can prevent costly emergency decisions, reduce carer burnout, and help your loved one stay at home for longer.
While the NHS is vital for medical diagnosis, it is often limited in providing the day-to-day navigation families need. DemNurse fills the gap, offering high-level attention without the waiting lists.
No. Care agencies help with doing tasks (like washing or cooking). DemNurse helps with understanding — from managing changing behaviours to navigating the complex social care system.
That is completely fine. You can start with a single session. There is no pressure to commit to more than you feel you need.
We charge because every dementia journey is unique, and navigating it safely requires skill, care, and presence. Our aim is never to pressure, but to provide the clarity you need to move forward with confidence.

What Families Say
One of my relatives has dementia and it has been a tangle of worries to work through. The original diagnosis is scary and daunting, so navigating how to process everything is completely overwhelming. Delighted to see that you have launched this one to one service in Northumberland.
— Claire B
I wish this service had been available when Mum was going through it. Having the same person to talk to each time would have made everything feel so much easier.
